Summary

A railway station opened on 13th August 1866 and closed on 21st December 1866. Re-opened December 1868 and closed 22nd June 1880. Re-opened once again on 14th April 1911 and closed finally 6th November 1933. It did remain in Goods till 29th February 1960.

Description

Original station had two stone platforms just E of level crossing. N platform removed c. 1867when the line was singled. Wooden shelter on S platform had disappeared by c. 1900s and was replaced by S&M. <1>

Shown on Ordnace Survey map 1:10560 which shows station building and level crossing. <2>

Photograph taken 24th June 2017. By this date everything had gone apart from the track bed and the stone face of the S platform in front of a new build residential house. <3>

Site of railway station on the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Railway, opened in 1911, closed to passengers in 1931 and entirely in 1960. <4>
