Description
Foundation of a wall was found in the street during excavations at this point, and in the cellar of the house adjacent. Appears as feature labelled D on JAM s MS plan of 1905 relating to the course of the town wall in the Barker Street/Austin Friary area. <1>
The fabric is not described but lies along a consistent line of observations and may reliably indicate the course of the town wall across Bridge Street, possibly immediately adjacent to the Cripple Lode Gate site (PRN 01456). <2>
