Description
Observation marked on Morris's 1901 MS plan of the Austin Friars area to the effect that a 'paved roadway' was found 2.5 ft below the surface of St Austin's Friars, north of a sandstone wall (PRN 62558), immediately outside nos.1-2 St Austin's Friars [PRNs 10491 and 10492?]. <1>
May be a predecessor (shifted or much narrower) of the St A.F. lane, or may represent a courtyard surface within the friary precinct (PRN 01466) <2>
