Description

Possible deserted village <1>

Earthworks lie in the field to the NE of the present house. A holloway runs N/S across the field to the spinney and re-emerges in the field to the S, where ridge and furrow runs off to the W. A dam, now breached, lies across the stream which runs E/W across the site. In the SW corner of the field several platforms visible <2>

Possible fishponds at SO64837728 and SO64887728. OS FI 1968 <3>

Two curving linear earthworks (the fishpond dams?) surveyed at 1:2500 by OS Arch Division in 1979. <4>

Evaluated for MPP in 1990-1, Medium score as one of 91 Irregular Open Field Systems.<6>
