Summary
Remains of the rampart inside the medieval town wall were found at the rear of 66 High Street during an evaluation excavation in 1998 (SOU 934). The site now lies west of Cooper's Court on Briton Street.

Full description
SOU 934 (Evaluation Excavation at 66 High Street in 1998):
[1]: The medieval town wall was located near the west end of Trench 3, at the east end of the site. Remains of its internal rampart and the intra-mural road known as Back of the Walls, were found to the west of the town wall. Post-medieval road levels overlay the rampart.
