Full description

SOU 893 (Watching Brief at the Haymarket Electricity Substation, Strand, 1998):
[1]: A limestone wall was found. It lay above a layer of ash/silty clay and clinker, which may have been a levelling layer for the wall. A layer of mortar was presumably associated with the wall contruction. The wall probably formed part of a building shown on the 1846 map (and was assumed to date from that period).
