Summary
A ditch, possibly part of the Inner Town Ditch, was revealed although not investigated during an archaeological evaluation excavation in 2003 (SOU 1247). (See parent record MSH3425 for further details about this part of the town ditch.)

Full description
SOU 1247 (field evaluation in 2003):
[1]: The evaluation trenches were of limited extent and contained substantial modern foundations, which severely limited the areas available for investigation. Natural brickearth was revealed in limited areas. Two ditches were partially revealed although not investigated. These were possibly the inner and outer town ditches, east of the line of the town wall. The ditches cut through natural brickearth and the inner ditch cut a redeposited brickearth layer. A stone wall of possible post-medieval date overlay the probable inner ditch.
