The scheduled remains of the manorial moated site of Rodbaston Old Hall and associated fishponds. The moat is probably the site referenced in a document of 1300, but appears to have been abandoned by the late 17th century.

Full description

A capital messuage and garden are recorded in documentary records of 1300. It appears to have been replaced by a new manor house by 1690 on the site of the present stables (cf. PRN 54240). (DAL 06/12/2010) <2>

Moated Site: A rectangular moated site surrounded by a water-filled moat. A causeway on the south side gives access to the interior. The interior is level except for a mound in the south-east corner. Generally raised circa 2 metres above natural ground level. <3>

Originally a double moat. The outer moat was in-filled at some point in the past. <4>
