<1> Section of road excavated during watching brief. Aligned W-E. Raised central section, flanked by two ditches. Total about 10m in width. Possibly part of the Roman period Brough-Templeborough route believed to run through this area towards Stanage Edge, to the west. See also PIN05394 and PIN04517/01 for alternative (or additional) routes in this area.
<2> Geophysical survey was conducted to the west, near Soughey Lane in 2015 in order to trace the route of this feature. It appeared to turn slightly to the north and cross Redmires Road.
