Full Description
<1> An extremely slight elongated mound much reduced and spread by cultivation. A superficial rise is apparent to the eastern end of its axis with a level area on the west. The profile is suggestive of a small motte and bailey but no definitive conclusions can be drawn from its current state (R Lewis - 11.9.1964).
<2> Aerial photograph evidence shows a rectangular moat. Could this be a moated manor site rather than a motte? May be a small moat and bailey, much damaged by cultivation.
