    <1> Line of Roman road (?). 2.5-3.0 metres wide between two ditches; embanked on firm ground above mud and clay with paving stones in places in situ. Traceable in a straight line to just south of the most westerly part of the wall surrounding Gin Piece Plantation. The middle stretch is marked as a narrow track on the O.S sheet- SK23298536-SK23498538. Noted by Mr. Pearce of Shireoaks, 1962. Notified to SCM 25 Jan.1994 FLP. SCM SK 28 NW 67.
