Full Description
A flint lined well was discovered during gravel working and its upper part broken up, presumably in the 1920-30s. Harris <1> noted that the bottom of the well remained untouched. Unlike other Roman wells found at Thatcham Newtown this feature was not marked on historic Ordnance Survey mapping <2>.
