Full Description
A description of WE Harris's Feature no. 17 was published in a summary of his work on Thatcham Newtown <2>. The description records that, near Henwick Lane, fragmentary dry flint foundations and a rough floor of broken tiles was found in the gardens.
On the Fourth Edition OS map of 1933 <1>, the find is marked as 'Roman Tile Floor Found A.D. 1931'.
