Full Description

Timber framed with later white painted brick refacing and an old tile roof. The interior has a crown post roof with chamfered timbers.

There is an inscribed date of 1675 on Forge Cottage <6>.

Greenaway says that the smiths were the Briant family in the 18th and 19th century (including two female members) and the Prints in the late 19th century <3>. Historic mapping from 1877 to 1912 shows a smithy on the site <4> <5>.
