Full Description

FROM 1723 TO 1794 KENNET CANAL TERMINATED AT NEWBURY WHARF. THE WHARF HAD TWO BASINS, CRANES, WAREHOUSES, GRANARY (NOW THE MUSEUM), COALPENS, STABLES AND OTHER BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES. See 01391.10.000 to 01391.10.005 for 1998 results of canal wharf excavations.
