Full Description

BRICK CHAMBER WITH TWO SETS OF WOODEN DOUBLE GATES. TOP GATES WITH MECHANICAL GROUND PADDLE GEARING, BOTTOM GATES WITH HYDRAULIC GATE PADDLE GEARING. HAMSTEAD BRIDGE IS INTEGRAL.

When the Newbury to Kintbury section of the Kennet and Avon Canal was reopened on 20 May 1972, the celebrations took place at Hampstead Lock <9>.
