Full Description

COPP'S LOCK CONSTRUCTED AT SOME TIME BETWEEN 1794 (START IN NEWBURY) AND 1797 (COMPLETED AS FAR AS KINTBURY)

Copse Lock is on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Hamstead Marshall <9>. It is marked as Copp's Lock on the First to Fifth Edition OS maps of 1880 <10> and 1970 <11>, respectively.
