Full description

Yields abundant faunal and artefactual remains including extensive Neanderthal and early Homo sapien artefacts. Locally overlies and contains the channel-filling organics of the Fladbury Beds.

In 2013 research was performed by Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology service for the National Heritage Protection Plan Project "Putting the Palaeolithic into Worcestershire's HER". The project identified a number of areas of palaeolithic potential. [1]

A Palaeolithic flint end scraper was found in Lower Moor during an excavation in 2020. Slight dulling to the edges implies some, but not extensive, fluvial transport. It is considered most likely to date to Marine Isotope Stage 3. [2]
