Summary
Becket's Barn is the above ground remains of Pagham Rectory. To the south of the Barn are regular mounds and depressions, probably fish ponds associated with the rectory or perhaps sluices for Pagham water Mill (see 0363). Documents of C16 refer to them as 'salt Slipes'.{1} Though in 'fair' condition in 1962{2} they were untracable in 1971{3} and had been tarmaced over by 1985{4}
