| Summary: | Vis=-/9/1993 (oxford archaeotechnics) extremely high magnetic susceptibility in w half of field containing known cropmark not in precise location plotted from aerial photographs. Augering showed extra depth of soils, together with some charcoal. Magnetometry detailed underlying linear features and a possible pit. Soils have been spread and contained against former agricultural boundary and enhancement probably represents true focus of archaeological activity (oa). |
