Summary: | In October 2005, a section was opened up on White Horse Hill, adjacent to a stone-lined cist which had been recognised, but not excavated previously. The cist is exposed within a peat hag, and examination of the palaeoenvironmental record, alongside radiometric dating , is expected to provided evidence for the date of the cist, and the environmental setting in which the cist was placed within the peat. This report details the results of pollen analysis from a 1.28 metre section immediately adjacent to the cist. |
