2015 - Severn Vale NMP Project.
Swathes of contiguous blocks of largely medieval ridge and furrow cultivation are visible as earthworks on historicaerial photographs and were mapped as part of the Severn Vale NMP project. Located in Hamfallow parish and centred at SO 70109 00906, the contiguous blocks are focussed broadly around Breadstone and the surrounding wayside farms and appear to represent the remnants of the former medieval common field system. Other scattered blocks are probably post-medieval in origin, along with some drainage ditches. One block appears to be steam ploughed. Aerial photographs taken in 2014 indicate that many of the cultivation earthworks remain visible. {Source Works 4249, 7270 & 14282}
