Full Description

The remains of a windmill, possibly 16th century, with 19th century modernisation. The structure consisted of a round house supporting a post mill, and was thought to be a transitional type between post and tower mills. It was modernised in 1834 and continued working until 1918, after which it became derelict.

The base of the ruined mill was not visible on recent aerial photographs (viewed as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project)due to dense vegetation, though there may still be remains visible on the ground. (1)
