Full Description
SK 415 607. An apparent hoard of Roman silver denarii have been found by metal detector over the course of three visits to the site. A total of 140 separate coins were found and reported to the coroner. They were identified by the British Museum and by Sheffield Museum. The earliest coin dates to c. AD 72, the latest, which are in good condition, to c. AD 211. A tentative burial date of c. AD 210 - AD 250 can be suggested. (1)
