Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950?/1974, SX68NE22 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV274323.

(Area centred SX 65708896) Remains of two cists, each surrounded by ruined circle 15 ft in diameter. The capstone of the northern cist has apparently been moved, the southern cist has is barely traceable. About three stones are erect, the rest are half buried (citing H H Breton, undated but likely c. 1925).
These cists are very dubious (R. H. Worth, 07/12/1948).
(30/07/1974) Features identifiable as cists were not located during field investigation. The indicated area falls in sloping open moorland, peat covered, and thickly strewn with boulders.
Information supplied by H H Breton (c. 1925) for this locality, has proved unreliable. It would therefore seem most likely that he misidentified natural surface rock formations.
