1996: Contemporary records state, "Road Barrier. Nr Sladbury’s Lane, Holland Main Road. Map ref. 641345" (Mil. Ed.). Aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1948 show a wide band of lighter concrete crossing the road some 40 yards to the E of the Holland Road/Sladbury’s Lane junction possibly where anti-tank sockets had been dug up and the tarmac or concrete replaced. <1> <2> <3>
