Summary

Pillbox (destroyed)

Full description

An aerial photograph taken in August 1947 shows the indistinct outline of what is probably a pillbox in a field alongside the A130 boundary hedge. Although too blurred to be positive, this position is entirely logical and fills a gap in the GHQ defence line. <1>

No sign of the pillbox can be seen on a June 1949 aerial photograph. <2>
