Full description

A pillbox is reliably reported to have stood on the sea wall at this point. It was destroyed when the sea wall was swept away in the floods of 1953.<1> <2> It is unknown whether it was of the single or double-ended type but as single-ended appear to have been constructed where there is a wide field of fire on only one side of the sea wall it is suspected that this was of the double-ended type. See Site No. 10001 for example. One photo of site.<3>
