Full description

Octagonal pillbox, built of concrete with a brick facing, standing on the edge of woodland bordering the school playing field. The side facing the playing field has been re-shaped, either during or after the War. <1> locates it at TL 2665 0332; <2> at TL 265 034. The 1970 OS 1:2500 and current OS landline mapping show a hexagonal structure at TL 26665 03340, but this is presumably a sports pavilion. Photographs supplied by <1> show the pillbox stands on a slight rise, and a brick abutment and concrete facing visible on [20424] may be a revetment.
