Full description
The remains of a 15th century wayside cross on the Mareham road, about a quarter of a mile south of the Silk Willoughby to Burton Pedwardine road. It comprises a square base and 2 foot 6 inches of shaft. A plain cross has been cut on the front of the base. A drawing made by John Cragg in 1791 shows the cross in similar condition.{2}{5}

This feature appears to have been known locally as the Mere Stone or Meer Cross, and was believed to be a Roman milestone. {2}{5}{6}
