The Rectory Camp, located in the Parish of Bassingham, was a Prisoner of War Camp during the Second World War. It is not known what sort of camp it was (standard camp, base etc). In the official government numbering system it was camp number 138 and referred to as The Rectory Camp, Bassingham. It is recorded as a German Working Camp. {1}
The camp is visible on the OS 6 inch map of the early 1950's. {2}
The site is now occupied by housing and a recreation ground. {3}
