Full description

There has been a church in Bedale since the ninth century; the present area of the nave corresponds to the Saxon building, traces of which can still be seen. The church was extended in the twelth century and the fortified tower was added in the early fourteenth century. The church has been largely unaltered since the late sixteenth century (1)
