Full description

Contained 4 graves none of which lay at the centre of the barrow. The barrow was undisturbed and the absence of evidence for secondary cuttings in the mound led Greenwell to suggest that the inhumations were all contemporary and pre-date the barrow. In 1949 the finds were in the British museum,
A grave 3.15 m south south east from the centre was recorded. Aligned west south west by east north east. 1.5m wide at top and 1.05m wide at bottom. Sunk through the chalk on to a band of flint.
A burial lay in the middle of the grave on the bottom. Laid on right side, head to the west south west. The back was straight, knees drawn up towards the face and hands in front of face. In front of the hands was a flint knife.
A second grave 3.75m east by south from the centre was recorded. Aligned west south west by east north east. 1.5m wide at top1.2m wide at bottom. It was filled in with earth and chalk.
At the west end of the grave laid close to the north side. Laid on right side head to the southwest back very bent and the femurs and tibias touched, hands up to the face. Laid upon the hands and knees were the bones of a burnt body among the burnt bones was a flint knife.
