Site consists of a very large double ditched segmented enclosure, subsequently identified as a causewayed enclosure.

  • Description

    1) A very large double ditched segmented enclosure, subsequently identified as a causewayed enclosure. Nothing visible on ground, under plough.
    2) H Case confirms in a letter dated 2.4.81 that he considers this to be a causewayed enclosure.
    3) Originally identified from AP's as 3 concentric interrupted circles between 2 small brooks.
    4) Site consists of a very large double ditched segmented enclosure, subsequently identified as a causewayed enclosure. Visible only from APs. Site situated on clear raised level above flood plain alluvium; lighter soil colour.
    6) Condition reported in 2009 as 'extensive significant problems, ie under plough, collapse' and the trend as 'declining'. Principal vulnerability from arable ploughing.
    7) DRF form has been scanned and discarded by S Lisk, 04/12/14; theinfo will be digitally linked to this record.
