Full description

Formerly Bagend Farm. Grade II Listed. Late 16th century house. Timber frame and plaster, with later brick front and rear additions. Rectangular and of two storeys. Gabled porch wing refaced with brick and the entrance blocked. Fenestration and existing entrance are modern. Side and central stone stacks with restored moulded brick shafts. Contains Jacobean panelling, staircase and enriched chimney pieces. All the listed buildings at Dormston Manor form a good group[1][2][3][4]

Evidence for features being classed as the remains of a moat at this site not found to be conclusive; two ponds considered to be either fishponds or ornamental garden features. [5]

It is part of Dormston Manor (Bagend Farm), Dormston. It is a partially extant 16th century listed farmstead with unconverted buildings. It is formed of a regular courtyard with multiple yards. Prominent T-plan regular courtyard in association. The farmhouse is detached with side on to the yard. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association to the site of a shrunken medieval village. Dovecote located within the farmstead. Large modern sheds are located on the site. [10][11]
