  • Appointments are required.
  • Access is free for the public, students and other researchers.
  • The HER charging schedule for commercial enquiries is available online as part of the Archaeology Charging Schedule.
  • Designated public access PC.
  • HER searches can be sent out in paper or digital format but a visit to the HER is recommended to allow users to access all the information available and discuss the results with HER staff.
  • Staff on hand to show how information can be found. 
  • Visitors to the HER also have access to free advice from the Service's Development Control Archaeological/ Countryside Advisors.
  • Photocopying and scanning facilities available for a small charge subject to copyright.
  • Wheelchair Access is available.
  • The HER is easily accessible by public transport and car.
