Opening Hours:
The WS HER is open to public consultation Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 4:30pm by prior appointment only.

Visitor Facilities:
All HER enquiries must be sent via the online request for information form that can be found on the West Sussex County Council website.

Unfortunately due to limited space the HER can no longer accommodate visitors.

Our Grey Literature reports have been scanned and are available to view at the four main libraries - Chichester, Crawley, Horsham and Worthing.


Range of information available:
Records of archaeological and historic sites, landscapes and finds from the earliest human presence in West Sussex, including records detailing Listed Buildings, Scheduled Monuments, Registered Parks and Gardens, Historic Towns Surveys and Historic Landscape Characterisation. Range of Historic maps including the Tithe Maps for West Sussex are available.

Please Note: The WS HER is open to public consultation by appointment only which must be made in advance.
