Durham County Council Historic Environment Record

Service changes due to COVID-19: The HER offices are currently shut due to the ongoing pandemic, and there is currently no access to the HER hard copy collections of reports, aerial photographs etc. We are unable to offer alternative access to these collections. However, digital HER searches are still available, providing GIS and PDF information. We will update this information when possible, but there is currently no time scale for when access to the collections may be possible.
