Visitor PC with access to digital HER; printing and photocopying service; small library of national and local material (more available in the Record Office in the same building).

Range of information available:

Records of archaeological sites and monuments, finds and historic buildings, developer-funded interventions and research reports, an extensive AP collection for the entire county, and an almost complete collection of the primary county journal, Transactions of the Cumberland & Westmorland Antiquarian & Archaeological Society, from 1900 onwards.
The HER is open by prior appointment only.  Consultation is free, but charges are made for printing HER details and photocopying (see details on website).  Free parking at County Offices may be available (subject to Council meetings and other events).
