Opening Hours:
C 9am to 4.30pm weekdays only. The HER is open to public consultation but an appointment must be made in advance.

Visitor Facilities:
Visitor work space; photocopying; internet access; extensive library of national and local periodicals, monographs, books and other sources; photographic collection; close to University cafes and restaurant.

Range of information available:

Records of archaeological sites, finds and industrial and listed buildings, including fieldwork reports, mapping and photographs.

HER searches can be sent out in paper or digital format but a visit to the HER is recommended to allow users to access all the information available and discuss the results with HER staff.

A free finds identification service is provided for members of the public.

Visitors to the HER also have access to free advice from the Service's Development Control and Countryside Archaeological Advisors.
