By prior appointment only. Visitor Facilities:Visitor desk. Access to HER’s supporting reference materials, as well as to professional advice. Powerpoint and wireless for laptops available.Stairs to access; level access can be arranged at another location in the building. Range of information available:Databases, computer mapping, records and supporting collections relating to archaeological sites, historic buildings, and historic landscapes (Historic Landscape Character Assessment data is available). Supporting materials include large collections of excavation reports and aerial photographs, together with detailed record files and a general library.
In most cases the service is provided free of charge, except for photocopying costs etc. However, for commercial consultations, charges for staff time are made.
