Full description

A walled quadrilateral enclosure built of stones set in clay with mortared upper courses was interpreted as garden by Radford in his excavations on Tintagel island (h1, b8). The enclosure, measuring 25.0m by 16.0m, has an eastern entrance, and paths marked by small stones set on edge around the edge and across the middle. The site is 60.0m north west of the chapel (23165.55) and was said by Leland in 1540 to have been a garden (b1). It is visible on aerial photographs (p1-5). The monument was included in the Schedule on 9/10/1981 and the scheduling updated on 18/11/1996.
