Full description
Cut into the hillslope about 15m south west of Lower Broom Battery (7906.17) is a very small scoop-like quarry, approx 5.0m maximum dimension, which was recorded as 'old quarry' on the 1888 OS 1:2500 map and has been shown on all subsequent editions (b1, b2, b3). Probably the stone source for the Lower Broom Battery and may be either Elizabethan or C18 (b4). The monument was included in the Schedule on 19/3/1998.
