Full description
An irregular shaped quarry cut into the hillslope approx 30m NE of Star Castle (7902) is recorded as 'old quarry' on the 1888 OS 1:2500 map with an access track from its south east corner running south east to join the road down from the castle to the west of Garrison House (7905.06) (b1). By 1907 this track appears to have been abandoned as it was omitted from the 2nd edition of the OS 1:2500 map (b2). Cannot be sure which of the many nearby structures it was associated with.
