Full description

A flag staff just north west of Star Castle (7902.01, 7902.02) is marked on the 1888 OS map (b2). Woodley in 1822 noted "on the west side of the castle is a long staff, on which the King's colours are displayed on Sundays and rejoicing-day" (b1).
