Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Milestone marked as 'Barnstaple 1 MS' on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, on west side of the road to south of road junction.

One of 105 milestones erected in 1879. The stone was supplied by J Easton and Sons of Exeter who had their works in Northernhay Street. It is positioned at the start of the Old Torrington Road.
