5 Honestone Street. House, probably a former Public House. Mid 19th century. Solid rendered front. Slate roof. Late 20th century red-brick chimney at left end of ridge; tall, old red-brick chimney at right-hand end, probably shared with No 7. Double-depth plan with through-passage for carts at left-hand side of ground storey. Three storeys; 2-window range. Raised quoins. Right-hand ground-storey window is a flat-topped canted bay with half-glazed double-doors in centre; each half of latter has a solid moulded panel below and 2 glazed panes above. Side-lights have 4-paned sashes; moulded cornice round the top. Cart-entrance to left has plain architrave with chamfered jambs, the lintel projecting at the right-hand end and with a slightly pointed top. Upper-storey windows have architraves similar to that of the cart-entrance, except that the jambs are shaped to resemble masonry quoins, and the third-storey architraves have flat tops. All 4 upper-storey windows contain 8-pane sashes in second storey, 10-pane sashes in third storey. Moulded board below the eaves, possibly the remnant of a full entablature.
Interior not inspected.
