11-14 Silver Street.
Terrace of 4 houses. Early or mid 19th century. Solid rendered front walls. Slate roofs. Chimneys on each end-wall and on party-wall between Nos 12 and 13; the latter rendered, the former of old red brick, except that top of right-hand chimney has been rebuilt. Two storeys; built as 2 mirrored pairs, each with adjacent doorways in the centre and a window at the outer end of each storey; Nos 11-12 have in addition a window centrally placed above the doorways, apparently belonging to No 12. To Nos 11-12 the doorways are flanked and separated by pilasters with pointed-arched panels, these supporting an entablature with bracketed cornice; 6-panelled doors, No 11 with the top 2 panels glazed and a small-paned fanlight above. Doorways at Nos 13-14 similar, but pilasters not panelled and instead of an entablature there is a cornice on large brackets; 4-panelled door at No 14. Windows at all 4 houses have flat shaped surrounds with jambs resembling masonry quoins. Six-paned box-framed sashes at No 12; 10-paned ones in ground storey at No 14, 8-paned ones in second storey. Sashes with horns at Nos 11 and 13, each sash with 2 upright glazing-bars forming margin-panes. Attached to the wall-face at Nos 13-14 are 3 large cement eagles and a cherub-head, a later addition.
Interior not inspected
