The Norfolk Historic Environment Record is the definitive source of information on the historic environment in the modern county of Norfolk. This resource, which is fully accessible to the public, contains over 50,000 records of archaeological sites and finds, together with buildings and landscapes of historic significance or interest. The NHER also maintains an extensive paper archive of unpublished fieldwork reports, detailed finds descriptions and photographs, together with local journals and publications and a collection of over 80,000 aerial photographs which can be consulted in person by prior appointment at our offices in Gressenhall.
