The Coventry Historic Environment Record (CHER) is the definitive source of information about the historic environment within the modern city boundary of Coventry. This resource, which is fully accessible to the public, includes records about known archaeological sites and findspots, as well as historic buildings and landscapes, and covers all periods from prehistory to the 20th century. Information comes from a combination of archaeological fieldwork and documentary research. Many archival maps have been digitised and recent research has focused on producing parish and manorial maps for the medieval and post medieval periods.
